Detailed Itinerary
Welcome to Srinagar! Our team will pick you up from the airport (SXR) and transfer you to your hotel or houseboat. Settle in, and in the evening, we'll have our group briefing, introductions, and bike allocation. Enjoy a peaceful dinner by the Dal Lake.
Our ride begins! We head out of Srinagar, riding through the "Meadow of Gold," Sonamarg. The challenge begins as we ascend the mighty Zoji La Pass. After crossing, we descend into the rugged landscape of Ladakh, stopping at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass. We reach Kargil by evening.
Today we enter the remote Suru Valley. The road follows the Suru River, offering stunning views of lush green fields set against barren mountains. We'll get our first glimpses of the massive Nun (7,135m) and Kun (7,077m) peaks. Our stop is Rangdum, a remote settlement with an old monastery, our last stop before Zanskar.
Get ready for one of the most scenic days. We ride towards Pensi La Pass (4,400m), the gateway to Zanskar. Just after the pass, we stop to marvel at the Drang-Drung Glacier, a massive river of ice. From here, the road (mostly off-road) descends into the Zanskar Valley, and we reach Padum, the main town, by evening.
A rest day in Padum to explore the heart of Zanskar. We'll ride to the ancient Karsha and Stongdey monasteries, perched on cliffs overlooking the valley. This is a day to soak in the unique culture and atmosphere of this remote Buddhist region.
We take a day trip to the incredible Phugtal Monastery. A new road gets us close, but the final approach requires a short, rewarding trek. The monastery is built into the mouth of a giant cave, a truly spectacular sight. We return to Padum in the evening.
The new adventure begins! We ride on the newly constructed road from Padum towards Manali. This route takes us over the high Shingo La Pass (5,091m). The descent leads us to Darcha, where we join the main Manali-Leh highway and ride to the beautiful village of Jispa in Lahaul Valley.
We are now on the famous Manali-Leh highway. We climb from Jispa to cross Baralacha La Pass (4,890m). The landscape turns into a high-altitude desert. We'll stay overnight at the tented camps of Sarchu or push on to Pang for better acclimatization.
Our final push to Leh! We ride through the Gata Loops (21 hairpin bends), cross Nakee La and Lachulung La passes. We ride across the vast Morey Plains, a 40km plateau at 4,500m. Finally, we cross the second-highest pass on this road, Tanglang La (5,328m), and descend into the Indus Valley to reach Leh.
A well-deserved rest day in Leh. Explore the local market, visit Shanti Stupa, or the Leh Palace. In the evening, we gather for a final farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of our epic journey.
After breakfast, our team will transfer you to Leh Airport (IXL) for your flight home. You leave with memories of one of the most incredible motorcycle expeditions in the world. Julley!
