Tour Highlights
This is not for the faint of heart. The Pangi Valley circuit is considered one of the most challenging and dangerous motorcycle rides on the planet. It is an expedition for expert riders only, offering unmatched adrenaline and views of a valley so remote it's cut off from the world for eight months a year.
- Conquer the formidable **Sach Pass (4,420m)**, a treacherous pass filled with water crossings and landslides.
- Survive the **Killar to Kishtwar** road, a 114km stretch carved into a vertical cliff face, often called the "Cliffhanger."
- Experience the raw, untamed beauty of the Pangi Valley, following the deep gorge of the Chenab River.
- Ride through the alpine meadows of Khajjiar, the "Mini-Switzerland of India."
- Test your skill, nerve, and endurance on a route that few riders will ever complete.
- Due to the extreme nature, this tour runs in very small, expert-led groups.
If you're an expert rider looking for the ultimate challenge, this is it. This journey is a badge of honor.
Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Dharamshala/Gaggal Airport (DHM) and transfer to our hotel in McLeod Ganj. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. In the evening, we have an extensive briefing on the extreme challenges ahead. Bike checks and allocation are critical today.
We start our ride, descending from McLeod Ganj and heading towards the historic town of Chamba. The ride is scenic, following the Ravi River. This day is a gentle warm-up, allowing us to get comfortable with the bikes before the madness begins.
The day of reckoning. We start very early to cross the mighty Sach Pass (4,420m). The road is non-existent, a boulder-strewn track with multiple glacial-melt water crossings. After conquering the pass, we descend into the Pangi Valley, reaching the remote outpost of Killar by late evening. This is one of the toughest riding days imaginable.
Today we ride the "Cliffhanger." This is the world-famous Killar-Kishtwar road, a narrow, gravel track carved into the side of a vertical cliff, hundreds of feet above the Chenab River. There are no guardrails. This road requires 100% focus and nerves of steel. We'll ride slowly and steadily, reaching Kishtwar by evening.
After two days of extreme adventure, today is a more relaxed ride. We leave Kishtwar and head to the beautiful, lesser-known valley of Bhaderwah, often called "Mini Kashmir." The roads are better, and the scenery is spectacular. We'll relax and recover from the previous days' efforts.
We ride from Bhaderwah back towards Chamba, but this time we head up to the famous alpine meadow of Khajjiar. Known as the "Mini-Switzerland of India," it's a stunning, pine-fringed meadow with a lake in the middle. A beautiful and relaxing end to our high-altitude adventure.
Our final day on the bikes. We enjoy a leisurely ride from Khajjiar back to Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj). We'll arrive by afternoon, check into our hotel, and hand over the bikes. In the evening, we'll have our farewell dinner, sharing stories of the incredible feat we've just accomplished.
After breakfast, our team will transfer you to Dharamshala Airport (DHM) for your flight home. You leave as one of the few riders to have successfully completed the Pangi Valley circuit. Congratulations!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is it really that hard?
A: Yes. This is an 'Expert Only' tour. You must have significant off-road and high-altitude experience. We reserve the right to vet riders for their skill level. This is not for improving your skills; this is for testing them.
Q: What are the main risks?
A: Landslides, river crossings, extreme drop-offs, and very basic facilities. The Killar-Kishtwar road has no room for error. Our team is expert, but the risk is real.
